On Safari, I spy Ellies

Illustrator

Recently I have become addicted to watching live safaris in South Africa. It amazes me how every day is something new and the beauty of nature at its true work is beyond description. Many years ago I painted this image for an art class. I got a new Wacom tablet for Christmas and in the spirit of my new addiction to safari I decided to recreate it in Illustrator.  You can view the original painting  here Original Painting.

The Doctor (Photoshop)

It's almost 4 am and I am still doing Photoshop Tutorials, why because sleep is overrated. So why not make a freaky Doctor Who desk top

Darth Vader Obama Style (Photoshop)

There is no way I can be the first person to do this, but that doesn't matter it had to be done. This is what happens when I finish all my school work early.

Eye (Photoshop)

It's been a long long long time since I have drawn an eye in Photoshop. I decided to attempt it again and I think it came out o.k. I will have to keep working at it, but isn't that part of the fun?

Flower Girl (Photoshop)

It's 3am and I can't sleep, so what is a person to do? Play around in Photoshop and watch YouTube videos on Photoshop effects. Here is the fruit of my labor or at least the last hour of my life.

Butterfly Kiss (Photoshop)

Here is a quick photo montage that I made in Photoshop for a school posting. When I think of it no one would kiss a butterfly that big, instead they would be running away in terror.

Pray For Your Nation

Photoshop

As a nation we are in trouble, we have become a sinking ship. As the subjective morals and situational  ethics of the Politically Correct have taken a deeper foot hold into our society. President Richard Nixon warned us that this would happen, the minority ruling over the majority. We are the silent majority he spoke about and the time has come that we stand for what is good and right. We are being striped of right to have a different opinion, to have religion and God, our political and social voices are being snuffed out. However, we still have the voice of prayer. Like Daniel in Babylon we need to through open the windows and pray. We need to fear the lack of God's presence more than what someone else will say or do to us. So, that we can walk out of the lion's den unscathed and pointing to the power that is God. So pray that as we abandon God he doesn't abandon us. Pray that we will see an out pouring of the Spirit and we return to God. Pray that the understanding ways of Love that once made us a great nation will replace the spirit of hate and intolerance. Pray for this nation's deliverance as we move from freedom into bondage. Pray!

Blue Dog

Illustrator and Photoshop

Everyone has their dog days and every dog has his day, I wonder if they are the same day. Maybe when my dog has a good day I will have a bad day or my good day is his bad day and does this only affect people who have a dog. What if you have two dogs, would you then be twice as likely to have a bad day? OK, probably not. However, my blue dog poster is kind of cool.

I took a stock photo of this dog into Illustrator and used the image trace tool to convert him to a grayscale image. I then recolored it in shades of blue. The image trace tool is a neat little tool, but it's also a bit of a cheater tool. It is great for a quick and dirty vector art, but I still prefer to use the pen tool and have control over every aspect of the drawing.

I finalized the image in Photoshop by using grain and glass filters to add a little texture. Personally I like to add a little texture to my vector drawings.  Vector art can have a tendency to look very flat, which isn't always a bad thing. However, I like my work to have a little depth to it so I tend to use Photoshop a lot to accomplish that. The smallest, lightest grain or noise filter can add depth to the image and still remain almost undetectable to the eye.

Have a beautiful weekend where ever you are and let your dog have his day, but don't let your dog day get you blue.

PowerPoint

I had to make this PowerPoint presentation for school. There are a lot of misconceptions about ADHD and those have it. Perception is a powerful thing and we tend to formulate our opinions based on our perception. The idea of this little slide show is that what you may perceive as a negative I may see as a positive thing. Hopefully I can teach you a little more about my disorder and challenge how you perceive others.

Illustrator

I had to recreate this robot for school and then I decided a Doctor Who reference was needed.
